If this is your first time in the workforce, it can be quite overwhelming. Busways will support you to ensure your time with us is a positive and successful experience as you learn a trade. What will you be asked for when applying for an apprenticeship?

Year 10/11 letter of completion or HSC results

A paragraph outlining your interest and suitability for an apprenticeship

What will you do?

Under supervision learn the skills to be part of the workshop team
Undertake an RTO training program
Complete all units of the apprenticeship to the required standards and within the required timeframes
Follow all safe working procedures and practices
Attend all required TAFE classes under the guidance of your supervisor and teachers
Under supervision, carry out repairs and servicing to company vehicles
Undertake non-trade tasks as directed by Workshop Manager / Workshop Supervisor

What's next after you apply?

If shortlisted, you will participate in an interview with both the Regional Workshop Manager and Workshop Supervisor.
Following the interview, you will be required to complete a brief mechanical aptitude test.
A successful interview will prompt two reference checks.
Next, you'll undergo a pre-employment medical examination, encompassing hearing, drug, and alcohol tests.
